A Harrisonburg-based military and emergency-response supplier has secured a $488 million federal contract to provide logistical support to military commands, federal agencies and other authorized customers worldwide.
The two-year contract with Tactical and Survival Specialties Inc. is expected to result in additional jobs for the Central Shenandoah Valley.

“We will be aggressively searching for experienced and motivated people to fill key positions in sales and support functions,” TSSI chief operating officer Jim Punelli said in a statement.

A trio of Downtown Harrisonburg technology firms worked with TSSI to secure the contract. Immerge Technologies, DIGICO Shoot|Post|Design and BlueKey Web Studios built a team to assist in TSSI’s proposal-writing for the contract.

“When TSSI approached us on the project, with the deadlines they were up against and the caliber of work needed, we wanted to give our best effort,” said Joey Groah, DIGICO partner and producer. “Through past collaborations, we knew we could hit the ground running with Immerge and BlueKey.”

“Immerge’s professional writers partnered well with DIGICO and BlueKey graphic designers under tight requirements and extensive government restrictions to turn out a complete response,” said William Roy, owner and vice president of Immerge Technologies.

“It’s great to have such a diverse pool of technology companies in the area,” said Ben Cash, BlueKey owner and creative director. “We’re also thankful for the Shenandoah Valley Technology Council and the effective job it does fostering collaboration like this.”
