Over 560 swimmers and their families are coming to Waynesboro this week, bringing both competition and tourism dollars to the community.
The Waynesboro Y year round competitive swim team, SMAC, (Shenandoah Marlins Aquatic Club) competed in the NBAC Long Course Championships in Baltimore, Maryland June 12th- June 15th. The meet was held at the Meadowbrook Aquatic Center, the home pool of Michael Phelps.
The Waynesboro Y Swim Team (SMAC) competed in the YMCA Nationals Swimming Championship in Greensboro NC from March 30 – April 3.

Kendra Hogg first jumped into a YMCA pool at the age of 1. A Rochester, N.Y., native, Hogg began swimming competitively in elementary school and rode the wave all the way to a Division I scholarship at Old Dominion University.
