Price Rotary Senior Center Celebrated Volunteer Appreciation

Price Rotary Senior Center Volunteer Coordinator Dawn Shull hosted a breakfast honoring Meals on Wheels Volunteers. Ham biscuits, fruit salad and bagels were among some of the food enjoyed by all. Approximately 45 volunteers attended. Gift bags filled with “goodies” were also handed out to each volunteer.

Dale McAlister Presented Local History to TBSC and PRSC

Dale McAlister, a local historian, took members of Timberville Broadway Senior Center and Price Rotary Senior Center on a historical photo tour of Harrisonburg and the surrounding areas. Dale presented to 16 members and many of them knew each of the locations he talked about, but a few saw new things in the presentation.


Bruce Dellinger Shows Works of Art

Bruce Dellinger, a self-taught artist, came to show his works of art and how he makes them today for the members of Price Rotary Senior Center and Timberville Broadway Senior Center. As a result of a farming accident in 1981 that left him a C5-6 Quadriplegic, he discovered that he could draw by holding a pencil firmly between his teeth.

Fifteen PRSC members and staff took a tour at a local Gift and Thrift store on July 29. The tour was given as if the members were “donations”. Members followed the path that donations take and the process by which they get to the store floor for sale.

Ophelia Boateng, JMU intern with Valley Program for Aging Services, presented Fish Facts to 18 members of Price Rotary Senior Center on Monday. What better way to prepare for the upcoming trip to Hemlock Springs Trout Farm than to learn unique information about trout in addition to the many nutritional ways that trout can be beneficial to us.
