Mississippi State eliminates Virginia from Super Regionals, 6-5

Two weather delays that lasted a total of 18 hours and 25 minutes moved the conclusion of game two of the 2013 NCAA Charlottesville Super Regional to Monday afternoon where Mississippi State averted ninth inning heroics by Virginia, holding onto a 6-5 win in front of a sellout crowd of 4,956 at Davenport Field.

Sunday Virginia-Mississippi State Game Suspended, Will Restart at 4 p.m. Monday

The second game of the 2013 NCAA Charlottesville Super Regional at Davenport Field was suspended Sunday evening because of inclement weather. UVa.’s game with Mississippi State was delayed in the bottom of the seventh inning with MSU holding a 5-3 lead.
