Fourth-ranked Fishburne swept a pair of weekend games at the Massanutten Invitational, defeating Shooting4Greatness Academy 83-70 on Friday and defeating Mount Zion Prep 74-65 on Saturday.

Kiski led #2 Fishburne by as many as nine points in the first half, but the Caissons took control with defense in a strong second-half performance that lifted FMS to a 76-63 win at the FMS Best Western Caisson Shootout.

UVa. women’s basketball falls to Kansas State, 49-46

The UVa. women’s basketball team (3-4) fell to Kansas State (3-3), 49-46, in the consolation final of the Junkanoo Jam Tournament on Grand Bahama Island. Junior center Sarah Imovbioh (Abuja, Nigeria) had her fourth double-double of the season with 20 points, one shy of matching her career high, and 15 rebounds.

Fishburne’s Lamell Washington signs with Maryland-Baltimore County

Maryland-Baltimore County is getting what Fishburne Military School postgrad coach Ed Huckaby thinks is a major-conference talent in Lamell Washington (6’7”, 215, Frederick, Md.). Washington cited reasons not entirely involving basketball for his decision to sign his National Letter of Intent with UMBC on Wednesday.

K-State lands Fishburne’s Tre’ Harris

Fishburne Military School guard Tre’ Harris made it official on Wednesday. After committing last month to Kansas State, Harris (6’5”, 180, Glen Carbon, Ill.) signed his National Letter of Intent to join the Wildcats and coach Bruce Weber.
