Two big bits of news on the wrestling TV front today: WWE is officially moving Smackdown to Thursday nights, and it’s becoming clearer that Spike TV is not interested in continuing its relationship with TNA.
TNA President Dixie Carter confirmed today that the company’s flagship TV show, Impact Wrestling, will remain on Spike TV through the end of 2014.

Hogan birthday does its job: Until Brock Lesnar’s music hit, the Hulk Hogan birthday celebration made no sense whatsoever, except as a throwback to the fun Old School Raw from earlier in the year.
When you’re nWo, you’re nWo for life. Sure, we get it. Time to move on was 15 years ago, but it looks like we’re going to get yet another reunion at this week’s WWE Monday Night Raw, which ostensibly is the go-home show to SummerSlam, but is going to be as much Hulk Hogan birthday bash as what it should be.
John Cena is the franchise in WWE. The squeaky clean superstar is the man who makes little kids’ dreams come true, literally. Call him Mr. Make a Wish in that respect.

Saturday night at the Hall of Fame, and Monday Night at Raw, Ultimate Warrior had his hand raised in victory, with wrestling his vanquished foe. Turns out, tragically, that it was only a near-fall; wrestling always wins in the end.
Wrestling legend Ultimate Warrior collapsed outside an Arizona hotel at 5:50 p.m. Pacific Tuesday, and later died at a nearby hospital. No cause of death has been released. Warrior, who changed his name legally from his birth name, James Hellwig, was 54.
