This week Jessica and I took a trip to Bold Rock Cidery in Nellysford, VA. This place is like Disney World for grown ups. It’s beautiful there and the cider is delicious!

So, you may have noticed that we have been MIA for a the last week or so. Well, that’s because we were living it up in Connecticut and New York City! Jessica lives up in Connecticut, so I went up to visit for about 5 days. It’s summer vacation road trip season! I’m getting ready to pack my family in the car for a summer road trip. As any mom, or parent for that matter, knows a road trip with a small child can be a nightmare.
Today was a big day for me! I harvested the very first thing from my little backyard raised bed garden! A head of broccoli! Man, that feels good. I’m in love with my broccoli.

I’ve been trying to figure out what to bring to my in-laws for Thanksgiving. Jessica and I discussed a couple of options and came to the Pumpkin Butter idea! It worked out perfectly because the local Farm Market had these amazing Heirloom Pumpkins that were grown locally.
