The Lynchburg Hillcats defeated the Wilmington Blue Rocks 6-4 tonight, winning their third in a row. Justin Bloxom went 3-for-3 with a two-run double, leading the offense for the Hillcats. Meanwhile, Jarett Miller tossed his seventh quality start in his last eight appearances, allowing just one run over six innings.

Winston-Salem walks off, tops Lynchburg, 6-5

The Lynchburg Hillcats (30-27) lost to the Winston-Salem Dash (23-33) tonight despite taking a ninth inning lead. Jose Peraza tripled with the bases loaded and two outs putting the ‘Cats up 5-4 in the top of the ninth. Then, Tim Anderson hit a two-run homer to center field in the bottom of the inning. The Dash won 6-5 on the walk-off.

Trailing 6-4 with the bases loaded and one out in the ninth inning, Jose Peraza hit a sharp single to left field, and a misplay by Courtney Hawkins allowed three runs to score and give Lynchburg a 7-6 victory at Calvin Falwell Field Monday evening.

The Lynchburg Hillcats (17-20) won their second straight series tonight with a 5-3 win over the Carolina Mudcats (19-17). Kyle Wren and David Nick both went 3-for-5 tonight as the Hillcats tallied 12 knocks in the rubbermatch victory.
