Friends of the LibraryThe Friends of the Staunton Library will kick off its annual book sale on Tuesday, April 9.

The non-profit group hosts large book sales twice a year on the second floor of the Staunton Public Library, and ongoing sales on the first and ground floors. Book sales are significant fundraisers for the library, and donated materials and volunteer help are welcomed and appreciated for the sales.

Sarah Skrobis, the library’s director, said she’s always impressed by the generosity of Staunton residents who volunteer their time and contribute books to support the sales.

“The Friends’ book sales are so important to the Library, because all the proceeds go right back into serving the Staunton community by allowing the Friends to sponsor special events, purchase additional materials for the collections, and much more,” Skrobis said. “In addition, the Friends supplement City funding to support big projects like the first-floor facelift going on right now.”
