The Staunton Convention Visitors Bureau, Staunton Downtown Development Association and the Staunton Music Guild announced Wednesday that they have been awarded a $4,840 marketing grant as part of Virginia Tourism Corporation’s Marketing Leverage Program.

The VTC program is designed to stimulate new tourism marketing programs through the creation of local, area and regional tourism partnerships. The objective of the program is to leverage limited marketing dollars, resulting in increased visitor spending.

“The grant, along with partner and city contributions totaling almost $10,000, will enable us to raise awareness of Staunton as a vibrant arts destination with great local music and food,” said citiy tourism director Sheryl Wagner.

The marketing program, LOVE the Local Vibe, includes media placements on WashingtonPost.com, BaltimoreSun.com and Flavor magazine.
