Staunton Downtown Development Association launches consumer survey

Contributors

sdda-logoBeginning Monday, October 3, the SDDA will launch a consumer e-survey, designed to collect information from the community and region about Downtown Staunton.  The survey asks for input about Downtown perception, shopping and entertainment habits and the streetscape. The survey instrument was designed by Tripp Muldrow of Arnette Muldrow, a firm from Greenville, South Carolina.

The survey will provide a snapshot of the Downtown Staunton customer and define Downtown’s market position in the region.  It will act as a catalyst for strategic planning for future SDDA programming.

The survey instrument design was impacted by a series of focus group discussions held in January and February 2016 where people from different community segments were invited to discuss various existing aspects of the Downtown Service District and potential improvements for Downtown.

The survey was funded by a Virginia Main Street Downtown Improvement grant as part of a series of events and programming designed to connect Downtown Staunton to the community and region, position Downtown as a shopping destination and give the community an opportunity to make suggestions for improvements and future development.

In addition to the survey effort, the grant funded the Staunton Stories event and exhibit, the Shop Staunton First Saturdays campaign and the launch of the Downtown Discount Card.

Those participating in the survey who provide their email address will be entered to win one of five $100 Downtown Gift Cards.

All information and opinions will be kept anonymous and confidential. To complete the survey and be entered to win, visit www.surveymonkey.com/r/stauntondowntown
