saaclogoThe  Staunton Augusta Art Center and Beverley Street Studio School are collaborating on a major new exhibition titled The American Landscape.

With 51 participating artists and 90 works, the exhibit will take place in two locations: the Staunton Augusta Art Center galleries in the Smith Center at 20 S. New Street and the Beverley Street Studio galleries at 22 W. Beverley Street.  The exhibit will run May 23-June 29 with opening receptions in both locations on Friday evening, May 23 from 5-7.

Following a wide Call for Entries, the works in the exhibit were selected by juror Steve Doherty, MFA, former editor-in-chief of American Artist, and current editor of PleinAire Magazine.  Mr. Doherty, a full-time artist and instructor, will also serve as the judge for three awards which will be announced at the opening receptions.  Mediums represented in the landscapes include oil, graphite, watercolor, acrylic, photography, oil pastel, soft pastel, and mixed media.  Selected artists are from Arizona, California, Kansas, Maryland, Ohio, Nevada, New York, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.

There is no admission charge to view the exhibits or to attend the opening receptions.  Works will be available for purchase.
