state-fairThe State Fair of Virginia is anticipating peak attendance Saturday, Sept. 27, and anticipates similar attendance on Sunday, Sept. 28. Ample parking is available—and free—and courtesy trams are being used to move visitors to and from their vehicles.

People traveling to and from the fair should consider taking U.S. Route 1 or U.S. Route 301 as an alternative to Interstate 95.

Some traffic delays can be expected on state Route 30 near entrances to The Meadow Event Park. State and local law enforcement are directing traffic to minimize any inconvenience. The fair will communicate significant delays on I-95 via Twitter.
This year’s State Fair of Virginia opened Sept. 26 and will run through Oct. 5. Information is available at StateFairVa.org.

The State Fair is held each fall at its permanent home at The Meadow Event Park in Caroline County. The fair’s mission is to increase agricultural and natural resource awareness and interest through educational programs, exhibitions and competitions in a fun, family-friendly setting.
