Source and Style in Bach’s Suites
In this informal lecture-recital, harpsichordist Carsten Schmidt and music historian Jason Stell discuss the history and development of the suite, a grouping of dances that helped define Baroque music, especially Bach’s work.
The talk is part of Schmidt’s on-going Bach Project, which offers Bach’s entire keyboard works in solo harpsichord recitals over about seven years.
