This Saturday, October 24, 2014 join Staunton’s premier health and wellness experts in the parking lot next to Black Dog Bikes where they will be handing out goodies and collecting donations for valley mission shelter. Experts like Anne Buzzelli (of BuzzNutrition), Joy Boardman (masseuse and artist), Hope and Clarke Staton (both of Integrative Health Therapies), Jessica Troop (of The Balanced Dog), Dr. Rachel Heneberry (of Heneberry Chiropractic), and much more will be on hand to meet and greet and hand out free goodies and information.

In addition, and the real reason behind the gathering, they will be collecting items to donate to the valley mission shelter.  Bring down your socks, gloves, hats, scarves, sweaters, blankets, toiletries and canned food and, if you’d like, get your picture taken!  Pictures will be compiled and sent to Kid President, a social media darling, who issued the Socktober challenge in an effort to get communities rallied around the idea that even a small donation, such as a pair of socks, can make a huge difference in the life of someone less fortunate.

Nearby you can also visit the Sunpots Pavilion, a brand new downtown Staunton venue that launched October 11th with a rocking Pump’tober Fest!  They will be the site of Staunton Parks and Recreation‘s sponsored Halloween costume contest.

PLUS, in the nearby wharf parking lot, you’ve got the always awesome Staunton/Augusta Farmers’ Market.  Just another perfect Saturday filled with family fun, local food, and community service . . . all in the heart of downtown Staunton!
