ballhooterSnowshoe Mountain Resort (www.snowshoemtn.com), the #1 ski resort in the Mid-Atlantic region, announced the full event line-up of its spring break music and college party celebration. Platinum selling Celtic Punk Rock band, Dropkick Murphys will be the headlining act, playing on an outdoor festival stage in the center of Snowshoe’s mountaintop village, on Sunday, March 7, 2015.

Ballhooter is a long-celebrated term from the logging history that preceded Snowshoe’s presence on Cheat Mountain.  A Ballhooter was the logger known for pitching the giant logs down the mountain with famous reckless abandon. This March, we’re bringing that wild spirit back onto the mountain for one extended 9-day spring break festival. Dubbed Ballhooter Spring Break, the event features free live music in the Village, plus a Ballhooter kilt making party, a mega red cup competition, giveaways and more. The event will last from March 6-14, 2015.

“We are excited to have the Dropkick Murphys at our annual festival. We’ve added a slew of Irish-themed events, including a Build Your Kilt Party for students to get into the spirit,” says David Dekema, marketing director, Snowshoe Mountain Resort.

Snowshoe is pleased that the event that started 3 years ago is growing in size and popularity among Spring Breakers and are planning on expanding this year’s celebration.

“With over a dozen campuses in close driving proximity we love that more students are coming to our mountain to blow off a little steam, ski the mountain, listen to live music and hang out with their friends in a fun and affordable environment.  We have watched this event grow in popularity and are happy to announce we’ve added a lot more activities for this year’s event and expanded it across 9 days,” Dekema explains.

Snowshoe is offering discounted lodging and lift tickets for the Ballhooter event online at www.snowshoemtn.com or by calling Snowshoe Reservations at 877-441-4386.
Music headliner for the Sunday evening concert events include the Billboard topping Dropkick Murphys American Celtic punk band who’s platinum single “I’m Shipping Up to Boston” was featured in Academy Award-winning movie The Departed. A band known for their loud energetic shows also include popular hits “Tessie”, “Hang Em High”, and “The Boys are Back.”
