Shenandoah National Park seeks applicants for 2015 Summer Youth Conservation Corps positions

shen national parkShenandoah National Park is now accepting applications for its summer Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) program. The YCC program provides gainful employment and an educational experience in the conservation of the park’s natural and cultural heritage. YCC enrollees work to maintain park trails, roads, buildings and campgrounds while learning about Shenandoah National Park.

This year’s 8-week YCC program will begin Monday June 15, 2015 through Friday August 7, 2015. Applicants for YCC crew member positions must be between the ages of 16 and 18 during the employment period. YCC enrollees work 40 hours per week and earn minimum wage.

Completed applications should be mailed to Volunteer & Youth Programs Coordinator, Shenandoah National Park, 3655 US Hwy 211 East, Luray, VA 22835. Applications must be postmarked by April 15, 2015 to be eligible.
