Shawn Michaels to return to WWE for one more match: Report

Shawn MichaelsShawn Michaels is in the works to work a tag match at a WWE super show in Saudi Arabia in November, according to a report from Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer.

Michaels would likely team with Triple H in a match against Undertaker and an unnamed partner.

Michaels returned to Monday Night Raw this week for an in-ring segment with Undertaker in which ‘Taker taunted Michaels as having retired out of fear.

Michaels’ last match was at WrestleMania 26 in 2010. He lost what was billed as a retirement match to Undertaker.

‘Taker is slated to face off with Triple H at the WWE Super Show-Down in Melbourne, Australia, on Oct. 6.

Michaels confirmed on Raw this week that he will be in attendance at the event, presumably creating an opportunity for a tag match to be set up as part of that encounter.

Of note is that Michaels had addressed the idea of one more match in an interview with Inside the Ropes last month, suggesting that it might not be worth the effort.

“Even if the match is phenomenal and everything else, you’re still gonna bust my chops because I’ve got no way not to expose to you that I’m 53,” Michaels said in the interview. “That’s the thing — and I don’t mean it in a bad way — but you want me to kip up and everything look as if it was 1996, ’97. That’s not gonna happen because father time waits for no man.

“There’s a lot of stuff like what do you do and even does the young guy benefit when all is said and done. I don’t know, it just seems like more trouble than it’s worth.”
