#2 UVA got 13 points from Malcolm Brogdon and held Georgia Tech to 24.5 percent shooting from the field in posting a 57-28 ACC win on Thursday night in the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Va.
Virginia (18-0, 6-0 ACC) never trailed. Georgia Tech (9-9, 0-6 ACC) scored on four straight possessions in one stretch in the first half, then went 7:17 without a field goal as the Cavs went on a 10-0 run to push the lead to double digits.
Eight different UVA players scored in the opening half, which ended with the Cavs up 28-16.
Virginia outscored Georgia Tech 27-6 in the opening 16:44 of the second half and led by as many as 33 in the final 20 minutes.
