Who doesn’t love a dinosaur?!  Through these creatures – so well-known to children –  and with the encouraging guidance of Mary Baldwin College art students, youngsters will learn art theory and develop art skill while letting their imaginations run wild.

Armored Ankylosaurus/Inventing Textures , March 7
Get ready to protect your dinosaurs with a coat of armor like that of the Ankylosaurus. With various materials, apply unusual textures to your dinosaur creations.

Flying Dinosaurs: the Raptors/Applying Color, March 14
The well-known raptors were covered in feathers. Experiment with paint to create the colors for your own flying dinosaur. Do you want yours to blend into the environment or brightly stand out?

Tyrannosaurus/Creating Scale, March 21
Despite being the most dangerous of all dinosaurs, Tyrannosaurus  actually looked a little funny with  an extra large head and tiny arms. By investigating these dinosaurs, you will learn how to scale the body parts of  your own creatures. Perhaps yours will have a tiny head and long arms.

Sauropods/Exploring Vantage Point, March 28
Whether from the top of the huge, long-necked Sauropod to the ground underneath his thick legs,  explore vantage points and how the world looks very different depending on where you are focused.
