Route 754 in Rockingham County to close for bridge repairs

road-work-headerPart of Route 754 (Berrytown Road) in Rockingham County will be closed for about a month while Virginia Department of Transportation crews rehabilitate the bridge over Gap Run. The location is between Route 649 and Route 630 near the town of Elkton.

The road is scheduled to close at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, June 9 and reopen about July 8 after completion of the project. All work is weather permitting.

Drivers will be directed on a roughly 6-mile detour around the work zone. Southbound traffic will detour north on Route 754, south on Route 340, and north on Route 649 to Route 754. Northbound traffic will detour south on Route 754, south on Route 649, and north on Route 340 to Route 754.

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.
