Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office investigators are asking the public for help in identifying a body found off Route 33 on April 10.
The body was found a mile from the West Virginia state line near the entrance to an area known as the Switzer Dam entrance road.
The unidentified body is of a white male, likely between the ages of 18 and 30, height of 5’6″ and likely between 140–150 pounds. The victim was wearing green fatigue-style pants, a navy blue and black “Zero Xposure” brand jacket without a hood, “Diamond Back” black and grey gloves and “ECCO” brand hiking shoes.

Pictures of the style of jacket and likenesses of the shoes and gloves the victim was wearing are included here. It is believed the body was dumped within a month of when it was discovered on April 10.

If anyone has information regarding the identity of this person they may call the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office at 540.564.3800 or Rockingham–Harrisonburg Crime Solvers at 540.574.5050.
