Emily Henline and Blair Wingfield will join the St. Clair Street Band in a spring musical fest at the Friday, April 17, “River City Radio Hour.”
Eleven-year-old Emily Henline is a sixth-grader at Beverly Manor Middle School. Former Statler Brother Jimmy Fortune has said of her, “Emily has a great voice. My friend Barbara Fairchild would be proud of Emily’s version of her classic hit, ‘Teddy Bear Song.'”
Having recently moved to Augusta County from Mount Airy, Md., Emily is a relative newcomer to the local entertainment scene. She made her musical theatre debut in ShenanArts’ musical, Children’s Letters To God at ShenanArts. She has recorded her first CD, which will be available soon.
Blair Wingfield is a well-known local performer who has been in numerous theatrical performances and music projects. She’s a veteran performer with ShenanArts. Blair attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Manhattan and plans on continuing her work in the acting and music fields.
The St. Clair Street Band features four favorite local musicians: Richard Adams, Sam Brown, Jim Harrington and Buddy Thomas. Together they will bring combination of sounds that will charm and excite the Radio Hour audience.
Waynesboro’s Lady of Comedy, Marsha Howard, will be back with her latest batch of jokes. She is guaranteed to give everyone a laugh and a smile, if not an outright guffaw.
The April RCRH also presents the final episode of The Return of the Maltese Falcon by Peter Coy. In the previous episode, Dorothy, the studio assistant, managed to remove the two Russian mafia and her competition for the studio manager’s affection. Now justice waits in the final episode.
Augusta Free Press and New Dominion Magazine editor Chris Graham will serve as master of ceremonies for the evening.
The performances will take place at the Blue Ridge Christian Fellowship at 329 W. Main St. in Downtown Waynesboro. The Radio Hour is presented at 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Admission is “Pay what you will, but Pay.”
