Richmond International Raceway, University of Northwestern Ohio bring NASCAR K&N Pro Series to fall weekend

From hometown locals to seasoned veterans, this series has excitement at every turn. But brace yourself for even more, now that Richmond International Raceway and the University of Northwestern Ohio partner to bring fans the UNOH 100 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race at RIR on Thursday, September 10.

“Everyone at the University of Northwestern Ohio is excited about our partnership with Richmond International Raceway and our “UNOH 100” event,” said Dr. Jeffrey A. Jarvis, President of UNOH. “We look forward to bringing the fast and furious K&N Pro Series East and our UNOH Brand to the great fans in Richmond.”

The UNOH 100 will kick off an exciting weekend of NASCAR racing “under the lights” in Richmond. From rookies trying to make a name for themselves to battle-tested veterans going for another win, there is sure to be something for everyone. The weekend culminates with the “Last Race to Make the Chase,” the Federated Auto Parts 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Saturday, September 12.

“We’re excited to partner with the University of Northwestern Ohio to bring fans exciting NASCAR K&N Pro Series racing at RIR,” said Dennis Bickmeier, President of Richmond International Raceway. “The NASCAR K&N Pro Series has such talented young racers, and here at RIR we’re proud to be hosting them. The racing is sure to be exciting as they battle around this historic short track, and there is no better way to kick off our NASCAR weekend.”

NASCAR returns to Richmond International Raceway for one final time in 2015. Start the weekend on Thursday, September 10th with the UNOH 100 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race, where young guns lay down some laps at RIR. Friday, September 11th will be firing on all eight cylinders with all-day on track action that culminates with the Virginia529 College Savings 250 NASCAR XFINITY Series race.
