Report: Virginia Tech signs Bud Foster to five-year extension

bud fosterThe Roanoke Times is reporting today that Virginia Tech defensive coordinator has agreed to a five-year extension that will pay him at least $756,000 annually.

Foster had been linked to several high-profile openings since the end of the 2014 regular season in November, including the defensive-coordinator job at Texas A&M and the head job at ACC rival Pitt.

Foster, 55, played for Hokies head coach Frank Beamer when Beamer was an assistant at Murray State and has been a member of Beamer’s coaching staffs at Murray State and Virginia Tech since 1981.

Beamer promoted Foster to his current coordinator job at Tech in 1995.
