Reo Hatfield: Kevin Quick’s badge of honor

People in our country are in a lot of pain due to the passing of Waynesboro Police Reserve Capt. Kevin Quick.  Besides the horror of any death and what a great man he was, it even goes further.

Many feel, as do I, that the badge represents the honor of our country, truth, justice and our way of life. Each officer in my eyes is a symbol of America and what our country stands for.  Such violence against Capt. Quick is not only horrible in our society on a person, but as an officer it is an attack on our freedom and America and our love of America.

Each officer in this country stands up for every citizen, period.  Our country is of all nations and people, and we stand ready to defend their rights, and this act of horror only binds us stronger, and our citizens stand beside us against evil.  Every agency, from the State Police, FBI, county sheriff’s departments, all local city police and Waynesboro Police Department did an outstanding job.

– Reo B. Hatfield
Chief
Waynesboro Police Reserves.
