Reds make it two straight over Nats, win 6-3

washington nationalsA three-run Adam Duvall homer broke a 3-3 eighth-inning tie and lifted Cincinnati to a 6-3 win over the Washington Nationals Saturday.

Duvall’s homer, his 16th of the season, was one of three Reds long balls on the day. Joey Votto (10) and Jay Bruce (12) went deep on Stephen Strasburg, who gave up three runs on four hits in five and a third innings, striking out 10 and walking two.

Anthony Rendon (5) and Danny Espinosa (8) each homered for the Nats (33-23).

Bryce Harper was 0-for-3, and his extended slump has his batting average at .238.

Washington managed only three hits on the day.

Dan Strally got a no-decision for the Reds (21-35) despite holding the Nats to two runs on two hits in seven innings.
