Rainy Weather Does Not Dampen Campers’ Spirits at SSC

ssc-headerThe wet, rainy weather did not stop nineteen Staunton Senior Center members and three staff from greatly enjoying Camp Overlook! This annual event which signals the beginning of the summer season offered its typical activities so loved by seniors.

Crafts, Bingo, games, nail painting, a talent show performed by the young people working at the Camp, and a great meal were offered at Young at Heart Day, with the newest item on the agenda being line dancing! Campers boarded golf carts for the brief jaunt down the hill to the chapel to either watch or participate in the dance and instruction by “Belles and Beaus” of the Bridgewater Retirement Community. The line dancing was a fine addition to an already fun-filled day, and as always, the youth camp counselors performed their many duties with much care, compassion, and exuberance!
