Railroad crossing work to close roads in Augusta County, Page County, Sept. 18-23

road-work-headerThe Virginia Department of Transportation has scheduled road closures in Augusta and Page counties for railroad crossing maintenance beginning Sept. 18. Each of the closures is expected to last two to three days, and signs will direct motorists on detour routes. All work weather permitting.

  • Route 256 (Weyers Cave Road) in Augusta County is scheduled to close from 5 p.m. Friday, September 18, to 7 p.m.Sunday, September 20. The crossing is between Route 276 (Keezletown Road) and Route 2002 (Houff Road), about one mile east of Interstate 81.
  • Route 611 (Kimball Road) in Page County is scheduled to close from 9 a.m. Monday, September 21, to 5 p.m. Wednesday, September 23. The crossing is about a 0.25-mile west of the intersection with Route 658 (Rocky Branch Road) near the town of Luray.
  • Route 624 (Brady Road) in Page County is scheduled to close from 9 a.m. Monday, September 21, to 5 p.m. Wednesday, September 23. The crossing is about 0.5-mile west of the intersection with Business Route 340 near the town of Stanley.

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.
