Radio Hour Remembers Christmas: Updated
The Wayne Theatre Alliance will present its 2015 special The Radio Hour Remembers Christmas on Friday and Saturday, December 18 and 19 in the Fellowship Hall of the Main Street United Methodist Church. The 7:30 pm performances will combine music, comedy, and drama to lift the holiday spirits to a new level. Lead by Richard Adams and the Boogie Kings, the all-star evening will feature Lorie Strother, Kevin Chisnell, Dustin Roadcap, Marsha Howard, Barbara Lawson, and Robert Young (aka Duffy). Included in the evening are a new Basic City Boys Christmas and Christmas in Cleveland.
“This is the sixth Christmas special for the Radio Hour,” said Clair Myers, producer. “This year’s celebration is truly packed with music, drama and comedy. We have some of the best talents in the Valley joining together to bring holiday favorites as well as new tunes and stories. This will be one of the best ‘Radio Hour Remembers Christmas’ ever.”
The 2015 December Radio Hour will features the Radio Hour’s studio Band, the Boogie Kings with special vocals by the keyboard genius William Hayes with assists from J. T. Fauber on percussion and Richard Adams’ assorted horns and strings.
Lorie Strother, the Dreaded Blues Lady; Kevin Chisnell, the Harmonic King; and Dustin Roadcap join the Boogie Kings in a wide range of music favorites from the Blues to the Holiday Classics.
Marsha Howard declares she has found a new source of humor and has gathered jokes to make “the holiday bright.” Her worthy companion is Barbara Lawson whose storytelling has been recognized by the Virginia Commission for the Arts as one of its touring artists.
David Young, (aka Duffy, the singing cobbler), shares Christmas in Cleveland, a story that will touch all who remember wanting that special Christmas present with every ounce of their being. And Richard Adams has crafted a new Basic City Boys Christmas story to lighten the holidays.
