What happened to Anthony Gill? Gill, third on the Virginia team in scoring at 9.2 points per game, didn’t get off the bench in the first half. He did end up playing 10 minutes in the second half, scoring seven points with a +/- of +9. You have to assume we’re going to be told it was some unspecified violation of a team rule that kept him on the bench for the first 20 minutes.

uva-logo-new2Teven Jones gets some important PT: Mired on the bench except for mop-up duty after a decent, if brief, effort in the VCU game in November, Jones scored four points in 11 minutes with a +8 rating. Jones was in the game to check the NSU guards who were getting into the lane against starters Malcolm Brogdon and London Perrantes, and did a fair job defensively.

Best +/- of the night: Joe Harris, at +17. Harris had 12 points and seven rebounds in 31 minutes. Justin Anderson, who had a more impressive stat line, 14 points, eight rebounds and three assists, had a -1 rating in his 28 minutes. Perrantes, with four points, two rebounds and two assists in 31 minutes, was +13.
