Pufferbellies Toys and Books announces new donation program for schools

Contributors

From May 7-12, Pufferbellies Toys and Books in Downtown Staunton will observe Children’s Book Week by donating 10% of the store’s sales to area schools for the purchase of books for libraries and classrooms.

Through the store’s new program, “Love a Library,” customers may designate any school to receive 10% of the amount of their purchases. After Children’s Book Week, Pufferbellies will give a gift certificate to each school to use for books from the store.

Schools may select in-stock books, or Pufferbellies staff will special-order books from publishers and other suppliers.

Love a Library is the latest in Pufferbellies’ programs to support schools and organizations in the community. Through its ongoing “Shop Sundays for a Cause” program, Pufferbellies has donated over $15,000 to non-profit groups serving children and families. It has also sponsored the yearly Warren H. Drumheller Memorial Book Drive, through which customers have donated hundreds of books to local schools. Love a Library replaces the annual book drive.
