Rasoul HeadshotHB 1344, a bill to protect workers by making it clear that Safety Service Patrol employees are included in Virginia’s “move over” law, passed unanimously on Friday.  Members in Virginia’s House of Delegates voted 96-0 to unanimously to pass Delegate Sam Rasoul (D-Roanoke City)’s first bill in the 2015 session.

“These men and women are out there every day helping disabled vehicles and making sure motorists are safe,” said Rasoul.  “We should absolutely return the favor by being alert and ensuring that they are out of harm’s way.”

This is the first legislation Delegate Rasoul has seen passed by the House since being elected last January.  The bill will be considered by the Senate next month.
