President James Monroe speaks up in Staunton

DH bigelow 1Fifth President James Monroe appears at Francis Auditorium, Mary Baldwin College, March 28 at 7:30 p.m.,   in the person of Dennis Bigelow, a re-enactor at Monroe’s  Charlottesville home, Ash Lawn Highland.

Bigelow offers living glimpses into Monroe’s personality, 50 years of service to the U.S from Virginia General Assembly to two terms as President, huge acquisitions of territory for the young U.S.A., and friendships, notably with Thomas Jefferson.

There is no admission charge; a free-will offering will be taken.
