Portion of Route 867 in Rockingham County closing Thursday for bridge repair

road-work-headerThe Virginia Department of Transportation will close part of Route 867 (North River Road) in Rockingham County near Mount Crawford beginning at 8 a.m. on Thursday. This closure is for repairs to the Pleasant Run bridge and adjacent guardrail, which were damaged by an apparent vehicle strike.

Route 867 will be closed between Route 11 (South Main Street) and Route 693 (Fairview Road).

The following detour routes have been established:

  • Drivers approaching from the Route 867/Route 11 intersection will travel north on Route 11 and then east on Route 257/Route 682 (Friedens Church Road) back to Route 867.
  • Drivers approaching from the intersection of Route 867 and Route 693 will travel north on Route 867, west on Route 682/Route 257 (Friedens Church Road), and then south on Route 11 back to Route 867.

Repairs should be complete and Route 867 reopened to traffic by October 14. All work is weather permitting.

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.
