2016 presidentBernie Sanders has leads in just two of the 12 states with Democratic Party presidential primaries March 1-8, showing the strength of the Hillary Clinton firewall.

This from new numbers from Public Policy Polling, which has Sanders ahead in his native Vermont and neighboring Massachusetts, and that’s it.

Clinton has double-digit leads in nine states, including Virginia, which PPP has going to Clinton, 56 percent to 34 percent for Sanders. Only Oklahoma, where Clinton currently leads Sanders, 46 percent to 44 percent, is close.

The strength for Clinton is her support among African-Americans. Black voters in the nine states where she has big leads are backing her by a more than 2:1 margin, with the low being Texas, where Clinton leads Sanders among black voters by a 63-23 margin.

In Virginia, the Clinton lead among African-American voters is 74-16.
