trumpA new Public Policy Polling survey of Iowa voters has Donald Trump remaining at the top of the Republican Party presidential field, but the gap between Trump and the field is narrowing.

Trump has the support of 24 percent of Iowa voters, according to PPP, with Ben Carson in second at 17 percent, and Carly Fiorina at 13 percent.

The three at the top have no prior elected-office experience.

The top politicians in the field are Florida U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio and Texas U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, who are both at 8 percent. Two former governors, Jeb Bush from Florida and Mike Huckabee from Arkansas, are both at 6 percent.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who dropped out of the GOP race on Monday, was at 5 percent in the poll.

Carson (77 percent favorable/11 percent unfavorable) and Fiorina (62 percent favorable/15 percent unfavorable) have the best favorable ratings in the Republican field.

Trump’s split is 48 percent favorable/38 percent unfavorable.
