Poll as control measure

Rasmussen was out with a new updated survey of Virginia voters yesterday, and given the strategy shift from the Creigh Deeds campaign the numbers could be our last best indication of the status quo before the shift.

The poll had Republican Bob McDonnell ahead of Deeds by a 47 percent-to-38 percent margin, a six-point improvement for McDonnell over the last Rasmussen survey done in July.

McDonnell was seen favorably by 53 percent of voters in the survey, up three points over the July Rasmussen poll. Deeds’ favorable rating was at 48 percent, down a point from July.

President Barack Obama had a 48 percent favorable rating in the survey, down three points from his showing in July.
