A pizza-delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint in the Florence Avenue-Alpha Street area Wednesday night.

The incident was reported to Waynesboro Police at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to a police report. The 31-year-old male victim told police that he had been approached from behind by three young black males from behind the residence that had been given as the location for a pizza delivery and ordered to empty his pockets. Two of the young men were brandishing pistols at the time of the encounter, according to police.

The subjects took the man’s wallet and an undisclosed amount of cash along with the pizza and his car keys before fleeing on foot in a southerly direction.

Possible suspects were located 45 minutes later on Ivy Street, but no arrests were made, and the case remains under investigation.

The department requests anyone with information about this crime to contact the Waynesboro Police Department at 540.942.6675 or Crime Stoppers at 800.322.2017.
