Freefall Music & Art FestivalThe perfect Saturday afternoon in Charlottesville’s beautiful autumn? It’s the Freefall Music & Art Festival – presented by WTJU 91.1 FM and the IX Art Park every Saturday from September 1 through October 27.

Each family-friendly event in the Freefall series will feature FREE outdoor live music, along with art, local brews and food trucks, at the IX Art Park, 522 2nd Street SE in Charlottesville.

“The Freefall series always brings people together through shared music experiences,” said Nathan Moore, WTJU General Manager. “Each Saturday in September and October, it pumps energy into the IX Art Park space in the heart of Charlottesville.”

When it comes to free outdoor music in Charlottesville, Freefall picks up where “Fridays After Five” ends, creating a unique and funky vibe at the IX Art Park, Moore added.

“Four years ago, the founders of IX Art Park invited community members to join in dreaming and brainstorming about how the park could reinvigorate our community,” said Lindsay Terrell, Director of the IX Art Park. “WTJU and the Freefall festival were among the first to be part of this exciting movement.”

“Freefall embodies the vision of IX Art Park by bringing together a cross-section of our community – businesses, performers, artists, educators – to serve as a vibrant cultural magnet and to build community,” she said.
