Update: Pedestrian struck, killed in DUI crash in Augusta County

Update: Thursday, July 5, 11:08 a.m. The driver of the Impala, Jeffery S. Lakatos, 50, of Waynesboro, Va., was not injured in the crash. Lakatos was arrested for DUI/manslaughter and was transported to Middle River Regional Jail.

 

Original post: Wednesday, July 4, 10:41 a.m. At 10:24 p.m., Tuesday, Virginia State Police Trooper T.L. Johnson responded to a fatal pedestrian crash in Augusta County. The crash occurred Tuesday on Laurel Hill Road.

A 2010 Chevrolet Impala was traveling along Laurel Hill Road when it struck a female pedestrian.

The pedestrian, Wanda K. Kramer, 41, of Verona, Va., died at the scene.

The adult male driver of the Impala was not injured. The driver was arrested for DUI.
