The Virginia Department of Transportation has scheduled road closures in Augusta and Page counties for railroad crossing maintenance beginning Sept. 18. Each of the closures is expected to last two to three days, and signs will direct motorists on detour routes.

Kathi D. (Graham) Roser, 62, formerly of Crimora, and most recently of Keymar, Md., died Tuesday (Sept. 8, 2015). A celebration of her life for her Virginia friends and family will be held at the home of her son, Chris Graham, at 433 S. Wayne Ave., Waynesboro, from 2-4 p.m. Sunday.

Paving operations will continue on northbound Interstate 81 between exit 227 and the Middle River bridge, between mile markers 228 and 237 for crossover paving, and at the ramps at exit 235 in Augusta County.

The following is a list of highway work that might affect traffic in the Staunton VDOT transportation district during the coming weeks. The Staunton district is comprised of 11 counties: Alleghany, Bath, Rockbridge, Augusta, Highland, Rockingham, Shenandoah, Frederick, Page, Warren and Clarke.

Governor Terry McAuliffe announced today that Virginia Poultry Growers Cooperative, Inc. will invest almost $62 million over the next three years to construct a new 80,000 square foot turkey processing facility in Hinton.
