Orioles improve to 3-0: Baltimore tops Twins, 4-2

baltimore oriolesA Jonathan Schoop RBI single broke a 2-2 seventh-inning tie, and Baltimore went on to a 4-2 win over Minnesota on Thursday.

The win completed a three-game season-opening sweep for the O’s, who got solo homers from Manny Machado and Joey Rickard.

Ubaldo Jimenez (1-0) got the win for the Orioles, giving up two runs, one earned, on eight hits in seven innings, striking out nine without issuing a walk.

Darren O’Day picked up his first save of the season, striking out the side in a 1-2-3 ninth.
