odu logoOld Dominion University football has announced a home and home agreement with East Carolina starting at ECU in 2018 and playing in Norfolk in 2019, ODU Athletic Director Dr. Wood Selig announced on Wednesday.

“Everyone associated with Old Dominion football is excited to announce this home and home series with East Carolina. We had the opportunity to open our season in 2013 at East Carolina and were very excited with their game day atmosphere,” ODU Head Coach Bobby Wilder said. “We continue to try to schedule as many regional home and home series as we can so that our fan base can see great games at home as well as have easy travel to the away games. I am hopeful this is the start of a special series with East Carolina that we can continue for many years to come.”

The Monarchs will travel to Greenville to take on the Pirates on Sept. 29, 2018 and will return home in 2019 to host ECU on Sept. 28.

East Carolina was the first FBS team Old Dominion played in 2013, a 52-38 ECU win in Greenville.

The Pirates are 4-6 on the year and are coached by Ruffin McNeill who is 41-33 in his sixth season as head coach. The Pirates have been to a bowl game in nine of the last 10 years.

Old Dominion is 4-5 on the season and 2-3 in Conference USA play. The Monarchs host UTEP on Saturday, Nov. 14 at noon on Fox Sports Net.
