New Year’s Eve street closures in Downtown Harrisonburg

dt-harrisonbugGenerations Crossing’s Annual 5K and Harrisonburg’s New Year’s Eve Celebration will take place on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 in downtown harrisonburg.

To ensure the public’s safety during these events, the following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic:

  • Generations Crossing’s 5K, 2:00pm to 5:00pm
  • South Main Street, from Grattan Street to Gay Street
  • The left lane of South Liberty Street, from Gay to Grattan

First Night, 5:00pm to 1:00am

  • South Main Street, from Franklin to Elizabeth Street
  • Temporary Closure for Fireworks Display, 11:30pm to 12:30am
  • South Liberty Street, from Bruce Street to  the Turner Pavilion
  • West Bruce Street, from Chesapeake to South Liberty Street

All streets will re-open at approximately 1:00am on January 1, 2015.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead for an alternative travel route to avoid street closures during these times.
