New England blasts Washington, 27-10

redskins-helmet1The Washington Redskins looked at Sunday’s game at unbeaten New England as a measuring stick for where they are. At the midway point of the 2015 season, the ‘Skins don’t measure up.

New England went up 14-0 in the first quarter on an 8-yard touchdown pass from Tom Brady to Julian Edelman and a 5-yard TD run by LaGarrette Blount.

It was 17-3 at the half after Stephen Gostkowski and Dustin Hopkins traded field goals. A 21-yard Gostkowski field goal with 7:32 left in the third made it 20-3 Patriots, and a Brady 18-yard TD pass to Brandon Bolden capped a 14-play, 88-yard drive to make it 27-3 with 11:28 left.
