Friday, Mar 2nd, 6:00 PM, Live Music & Dining – Maia Oden & Jasper Burns, Singer Songwriter. Another of Stone Soup’s multi-talented staff, Maia Oden, singer/songwriter and Stone Soup Sous Chef, is joined by husband Jasper for an evening of fine harmonies, excellent guitar work, and of course, Stone Soup’s famed Friday gourmet dinners. Southwater, a collective of bluegrass and acoustic musicians, encompasses a love of bluegrass, old time, country, jazz, blues and other musical traditions. As a result, Southwater’s music stands at the crossroads of the old and the new, the traditional and the progressive. Consistent within the performances is harmony singing, improvising and a “ragged but right” approach that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Curl up with a good book this winter – Join us for our Winter Mystery Series  with special guest author Mollie Cox Bryan joining us for a discussion on her first in a new mystery series  “Scrapbook of Secrets: A Cumberland Creek Mystery”.

Community Read Dinner, Music & Discussion with musicians CHRIS & GOOSE singing Gospel inspired by “Walking Across Egypt” by Clyde Edgerton. Join us for a fun evening celebrating our Community Read “Walking Across Egypt” by Clyde Edgerton. Dinner special will celebrate the food traditions of the South and our Music will reflect the Gospel music influence brought out in “Walking Across Egypt” The man “with a big voice,” and bigger heart, Chris Woodson joins with guitar-playing partner, John Goslin (aka “the Goose”) for a soulful mixture of Country,  Original Ballads, and Gospel as the icing on the cake. Chris promises, “music to be uplifting to every soul that is present. Discussion questions will be available at each table. A very informal and casual gathering of friendly folks who love poetry (or want to). Bring a favorite poem to share or just come to enjoy others’ favorites.

Friday, Mar 30th, 6:00 PM, Live Music & Dining – Thomas Gunn, Singer Songwriter. Thomas Gunn is a Singer-songwriter with a varied background! A graduate of the internationally recognized Berklee School of Music (Boston), Thomas has hitchhiked from Maryland to Alaska; worked as an Audiology Assistant, a construction worker, and a sandwich maker!  Currently he teaches music, plays in three bands, and makes beer he claims is “superior even to Guinness.” Music 6:30-8:30p.m. No cover charge; your donations support local live music.
