Minutes becoming an issue for #3 UVA?

uva basketballThe quick answer: no. Though four UVA players logged 30+ minutes in the 61-51 win over N.C. State on Wednesday (London Perrantes 35, Malcolm Brogdon 34, Justin Anderson/Anthony Gill 32), only one Cav is averaging more than 30 minutes per game this season (Perrantes at 32.4).

Brogdon is getting 29.6 minutes per game, with Anderson at 29.1 and Gill at 25.9.

Mike Tobey and Darion Atkins, who have been splitting time at center, are averaging 19.9 minutes per game and 19.7 minutes per game, respectively.

The other two players in Bennett’s current eight-man rotation are Marial Shayok (15.7 minutes per game) and Evan Nolte (13.9 minutes).

Looking at the ACC stats through the end of the day on Wednesday, Duke’s Quinn Cook is 10th in the league in minutes per game at 32.8.

So relatively speaking, the Cavs should be as fresh as anybody.
