washington nationalsMiami beat up Tanner Roark to defeat the Washington Nationals in the nightcap of a Saturday doubleheader, 7-1.

Roark (2-3, 3.10 ERA) gave up seven runs on eight hits in five innings of work for Washingon (23-14).

Bryce Harper sat out the game after dropping the appeal of his one-game suspension for cursing an umpire after getting ejected following a Nat win earlier in the week.

Daniel Murphy was 2-for-4 to improve his batting average to .403.
