Man mowing lawn struck, killed in Louisa County

policeA Louisa County man is dead after a car struck his riding lawnmower on Route 522 Saturday morning.

Garrett Lyron Jackson, 46, of Mineral, was on a riding lawnmower attempting to turn the mower around in the roadway to make his way back onto the lawn. A vehicle driven by Brent Davis, 21, of Mineral, hit his brakes to attempt to stop as he came around a curve, but the car struck the rear of the mower.

Jackson was thrown from the mower. He was transported to the hospital and later pronounced dead.

No charges have been placed at this time.
The crash remains under investigation.
